Parlor Stove Cooking
John Maniatty
Anyone hungry?

Anyone who has a parlor stove has the ability to prepare meals with
their stove. I picked up this old fireplace ‘arm’ from a
company that went out of business 15 years ago (you can find similar
items on the net or could easily fashion one yourself in your shop).
I can hang pots from it or use it to roast or grill. I had a buddy weld
up a base for it and I screwed it into my hearth. Very, very sturdy.
When I’m done with cooking I can just swivel it to the side or
slip the arm out of the base and remove it completely.

The base

Cornbread and Baked Potatoes (both staples...LOL!)
The beef goes in...
Fresh Cornbread
The beef comes out...

Edible

Remember, at least these three things:
1. You don't need alot of coals to cook in a parlor stove.
2. Everything will cook faster than you are accustomed to.
3. Always keep fire extinguishers nearby.
